Is it okay to practice if I have current or past injuries?
Yes, This is a practice for everyone who thinks they can't do yoga because they use a wheelchair or walker, have arthritis, high blood pressure, diabetes, a bad back, injured knees, are overweight, or have limited mobility. Don't let anything or anyone stand in the way of improving your quality of life. Healing requires increased circulation to the injured area and both the heat and the postures promote that circulation. It is important to remember that when you are working with an injury; patience is essential! The healing benefits of each posture come from proper form, not from depth, so pay close attention to the alignment of your body and listen carefully to the instructions. Although you might be uncomfortable at times during class you should never be in pain.
