How much water should I drink before coming to class?
Due to the extreme sweating experienced during a hot yoga class, proper hydration is important and requires forethought. It is recommended that you drink at least 1-1.5 liters of water throughout the day of each class. It's important to keep in mind that it takes at least 45 minutes for your body to process water, so chugging a few glasses right before or during class won't help. If you find yourself extremely thirsty during class that's usually a sign that you're not hydrating enough beforehand. Make sure to hydrate well after class. If you find that you are very tired or get a headache after class you might not be drinking enough water. Keep in mind, proper hydration is not just about water consumption.
